OAK BARK - Quercus cortex   Indications for use: Traditional herbal medicinal product used for the symptomatic treatment of mild diarrhea; mild inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth and throat; in alleviating ailments associated with hemorrhoidal disease (itching and burning around the anus), after the doctor has excluded more serious illnesses. These indications are exclusively due to long-term use of the medicinal product.   Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to oak bark. As a bath additive: Do not use on open wounds, large damage or infected surfaces of the skin and mucous membranes.   Warnings and precautions: It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years due to the lack of adequate data. If diarrhea recurs or blood appears in the stool, you should consult your doctor. Medicinal baths should not be used for fever, infectious diseases, heart failure and hypertension. If you have rectal bleeding when treating a hemorrhoidal disease, consult your doctor. If the symptoms worsen and do not improve during the use of the product, or the patient feels worse, there are side effects not described on this package, consult a doctor.   Interactions: While treating diarrhea, Oak bark may delay the absorption of other concomitant medications, so it should be taken at least one hour before or after other medications.   Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Due to the lack of sufficient data, the use of the herb during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.   Driving and using machines: The effects of the medicinal product on driving and using machines have not been studied.   Dosage, method of administration and route of administration: Adults and elderly patients: For the symptomatic treatment of mild diarrhea: 1 flat tablespoon (approx. 3 g) of oak bark pour 1 cup (250 ml) of cold water, boil for 5 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and strain. Drink the prepared decoction 3 times a day. For the symptomatic treatment of mild inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth and throat: 2 flat tablespoons (approx. 5 g) of oak bark pour 1 cup (250 ml) of cold water, boil for 5 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and strain. Use the prepared decoction for rinsing the mouth and throat. To relieve ailments associated with hemorrhoidal disease: 2 flat tablespoons (approx. 5 g) of oak bark pour a liter of cold water, cook for 5 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and strain. Use the prepared decoction as a bath additive (one full or partial bath per day, bathing time 20 minutes). For skin washing and compresses use several times a day.   Always use freshly prepared decoction.   Duration of use: For the symptomatic treatment of mild diarrhea: Do not use for more than 3 days. If during this time the symptoms do not disappear, please consult your doctor or pharmacist. For the symptomatic treatment of mild inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth and throat; to relieve ailments associated with hemorrhoidal disease: Do not use for more than a week (7 days). If during this time the symptoms do not disappear, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.   Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported. If you use more than the recommended dose and you experience disturbing symptoms, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.   If you forget to use your medicine: Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.   Ask your doctor or pharmacist for clarification as to the use of the medicinal product   Side effects: Allergic reactions may occur.
